About Ashley and Her Story
Ashley’s life was shaped by challenges that many people never fully saw. She struggled with mental health and substance use for many years, walking a difficult path without the steady support and stability that could have helped her heal. She was a daughter, a sister, and a mother. Although her relationship with her children was complicated, her experiences reflect the reality faced by many women when pain, trauma, and limited resources collide.
Ashley eventually lost her life to an overdose on a light rail car in Denver. Her passing is heartbreaking, and her story reminds us why recovery support, compassion, and safe housing are so critically needed in our communities. Many women carry similar burdens, often silently, and without a place designed to lift them up.
Our mission is to change that. We are building a home where women can find stability, guidance, and connection as they work to rebuild their lives and strengthen their roles as parents. A home that offers the compassion, structure, and tools that could have made a difference for someone like Ashley.
With the full support of her family, we are honored to name our women and children’s recovery residence Ashley’s House. It is a place dedicated to hope, healing, and new beginnings in her memory.
